PAUL STAINTON: St Pauls Cathedral is on the TV every night, which is sort of a good thing, but not a good thing, because people are camped out in front of it. Imagine that at the Peterborough Cathedral, on the grass there, full of tents. That would be interesting. But I understand you knew Dr Giles Fraser, who resigned as Canon Chancellor of St Pauls on Thursday. And everybody seems to .. nobody seems to have a bad word to say about the guy. Yaxley is deeply unhappy about the proposed development at Haddon. The development greenfield site is situated on the border between Peterborough and Cambridgeshire, and the worry is that new school provision will not be available to pupils resident over the border. In addition, Yaxley residents predict that traffic from the development will prove a nightmare for themselves and for Farcet residents.
Peterborough Cathedral says it has no time at all for the proposed march by the English Defence League, and the Church condemns the activity as divisive and counter-productive.
A WWF survey on British rivers says the Great Ouse scored well on many factors, but the River Nene is under pressure from pollution and water extraction.

Norwich and Peterborough Building Society has been told by the Financial Ombudsman that they must compensate an investor for their losses after being advised to invest in Keydata. This is regarded as a test case for 3000+ other investors, but NPBS say this is a provisional judgement.
A-Level results are out today and students will find out if they have the grades they require to attend university, as competition increases for places.
Cambridge University researchers say that low grade kidneys from deceased patients can still be used succesful for transplants, meaning that many on the waiting list could have their operations sooner.
