Councillors Donate Free Tickets

Councillors’ plans to share out some buckshee JLS concert tickets have been scuppered after the news leaked out that they intended to award these promotional tickets to themselves, with names drawn from a hat. Most of the winners have come forward and given their tickets to deserving cases. Paul Stainton speaks to two of the councillors who were able to confirm that they had no intention of keeping the tickets in the first place. Broadcast at 08:10 on Wednesday 14th July 2010 in the Peterborough Breakfast Show on BBC Radio Cambridgeshire.

Peterborough News 14th July 2010

NHS Peterborough will hand the responsibilities of the Primary Care Trust over to a GP Consortium within four years, but it is expected that the £13 million deficit will have to be repaid within three years. Any debt unpaid would be inherited by the GPs.
The free JLS tickets for councillors have been allocated, but five of the seven winners are expected to give their tickets to deserving causes. John Peach as the prime mover in bringing JLS to Peterborough will attend the concert. One other unknown recipient has yet to come forward.
A city centre hairdessers has been awarded a full alcohol licence.

Aston’s Back in Town

16:30 Saturday 10th July 2010

This weekend Jack Hunt School’s 40th Anniversary celebration concert began with an emotional reprise from Aston Merrygold who performed his “Empty Chairs at Empty Tables” song from Les Miserables to a select audience of friends and former teachers, a song which he first performed in the musical when he was at the School in 2004.

Before rushing off to his next appointment, the JLS frontman spoke of his love for the School and said he would always be there to help them in any way in the future.

The brand new leisure trust Vivacity will immediately look to shed 30 of its 300 staff in an effort to save £800,000.
The final weekend of the Peterborough Festival will include an event in Cathedral Square tomorrow Saturday 10th July 2010 2pm to 7pm featuring jugglers, a funfair and the Edwin Starr band.

Peterborough City Council have been handed a batch of complimentary tickets for the JLS concert on the Embankment on Sunday 18th July 2010 and councillors are sharing them out amongst themselves. JLS Peterborough Tickets On Sale

Cllr Gavin Elsey tells BBC’s Paul Stainton that tickets will be going on sale this weekend at the Destination Centre for the JLS Embankment Concert in Peterborough scheduled for Saturday July 18th 2010.
